The Midnight Choral was exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago, Chicago & Vicinity exhibit in 1924.  This painting was reproduced in The Poster, National Journal of Advertising Art and Poster Art magazine August 1926 along with a story regarding Grell’s poster design class at the Art Institute of Chicago.  Also reproduced in this same article is one panel of eight from Grell’s Hotel Lafontaine commission from 1926 and his mural entitled a Spanish Ballroom that was being completed at the time of the interview for the Aragon Ballroom, Chicago.
